Electrofusion Procedure
Electrofusion Procedure
Mark the insertion depth on the outside diameter of the pipe.
The pipe surface is scraped to remove any potential contaminants.
Insert pipe into the fitting. Take note of the insertion depth marking on the pipe.
Clamp both ends of the pipe to avoid any movement.
Prepare the electrofusioncontrol unit. Input volt is 230. Works both on AC and DC currents. Switch on the fusion box.
Connect the machine terminals to the socket on the fitting. Set the fusion parameters and start fusion process.
Current passes through the coils. The coils are energised.
The PE material surrounding the coils begin to melt.
The molten material expands towards the cold zones. The material begins to solidify at the cold zone increasing melt pressure.
The weld indicator “pops up” to indicate that fusion has taken place.
The cycle is complete.
